ACCT Team shines in the 2016 “Run for Schools 5k”

September 18, 2016 – ACCT students, staff, and faculty on the ACCT Running Team 2016, led the way in the “Run for Schools 5k” in Falls Church. For the second year in a row, ACCT had winners and age group leaders in the race of 732 participants. Lefty Kapanadze led the team as 1st place team winner again this year with a stellar time of 18:38 for the 5k. ACCT top winners also placed in the top five of several age categories. ACCT won the “most spirited” team as it’s team of 35 students, staff and faculty savored the day and the opportunity to support a great cause in the community. Dr. William Schipper, President and CEO, said, “every runner is a winner”.

The Falls Church Education Foundation works to ensure students are prepared to effectively meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Foundation is committed to equity of access, staff readiness, and preparing students for the future.

ACCT has been a sponsor of the race and supporter of the cause for two years. Beside ACCT runners, the Falls Church mayor, city council members, Falls Church school teachers and administrators, and community members of all ages crossed the finish line. The perfect weather made for a perfect day for the Falls Church community to come together to support education.
